Client Challenge: A mid-sized tech company was struggling with inconsistent performance evaluations and a lack of clear career progression paths for employees. This led to decreased employee morale and productivity.
Our Process: After the TouchstoneHR team conducted a thorough assessment of the existing performance management processes through focus groups and surveys with employees and managers, we developed a customised performance management framework. The framework slotted into the company's existing people framework and included clear performance metrics, regular feedback cycles, and career development plans.
We provided training sessions for managers on how to effectively use the new framework and conduct performance reviews, allowing them to move forward with the new program confidently and assertively. We included guidance on change management, including how to best communicate with employees to get them excited about the introduction of the new framework and how it would work for them.
We conducted follow-up sessions with our senior client representatives to address any issues and gather feedback for continuous improvement and through this process, we identified that the wider team were craving more personalised support, so we also recommended a coaching and mentoring program.
Client Challenge: A large retail company received a complaint that one of its leaders was bullying an employee within one of its departments.
Our Process: We met with senior management to understand the scope of the issue and the specific allegations. This allowed us to review the best path ahead, as well as understand the structure of the business and team. We then developed a detailed investigation plan, including timelines, interview schedules, and confidentiality protocols.
Once the investigation plan was signed off, we conducted confidential interviews with the affected employee, witnesses, and the accused individual. We reviewed the employment history of all those involved, including any previous complaints or relevant performance management, as well as understanding company policies and how they might impact the situation.
We then compiled a comprehensive report detailing the findings and provided actionable recommendations to address the bullying and prevent future incidents. At the company's request, we assisted the company in implementing the recommendations, including training sessions on workplace behaviour and revising company policies.
Client Challenge: A financial services firm needed to investigate allegations of inappropriate conduct by a senior team member, which was affecting team dynamics and client relationships.
Our Process: We held a confidential briefing with the firm's HR and legal teams to understand the allegations and legal considerations. We then reviewed the company's policies independently and developed a clear strategy for the investigation, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards and abiding by existing policy.
Once the investigation plan was signed off, we gathered evidence through interviews, document reviews, and digital forensics. We analysed the evidence to determine the validity of the allegations and identify any patterns of behaviour.
We then prepared a detailed report with findings and recommendations for disciplinary action and preventive measures that could be actioned by the HR team. We were then requested by the HR team to provide support implementing the recommendations and conducting training sessions on professional conduct and ethics.
